Non-woven fabric is a new type of eco-friendly material. It features waterproofness, air permeability, flexibility, non-toxicity, non-irritation, degradability, foldability, soft hand feeling, wear resistance and rich colors. It is widely used in agriculture, household decoration, industry, military, automotive industry, schools, office supplies, health care, leisure, travel, clothing, geotextile, household use, personal hygiene products, construction and other industries.
According to data from the General Administration of Customs of China, China's non-woven fabric import volume showed a downward trend from 2017 to 2019, with import value fluctuating and decreasing. Affected by the pandemic in 2020, the domestic non-woven fabric market expanded sharply, leading to a significant growth in both import volume and value.
In 2020, China's non-woven fabric import volume reached 162,900 tons, a year-on-year increase of 28.61%; the import value was 1.122 billion US dollars, up 33.24% year on year.
From January to September 2021, China imported 100,000 tons of non-woven fabric, with an import value of 782 million US dollars.
